Celebrating its inaugural event in December of 2011, the Combat Hockey/North American 3 Hockey League (3HL) Showcase is sure to be one of the most prestigious and well-attended events of the entire 3HL season. The four-day event, in which all 16 3HL teams play four regular-season games, will be attended by NCAA and ACHA scouts and coaches, as well as representatives from all 28 NAHL teams as they get a look at the high-level junior hockey talent that the 3HL has to offer.
The event is played at the Darien Sportsplex in Darien, Illinois, located in suburban Chicago. The state-of-the-art facility is owned and operated by the Darien Park District. The facility features three, NHL-sized ice surfaces, full service concession stand, pro shop, meeting/scout room and an indoor fieldhouse.
The 3HL Showcase will partly take place in conjunction with the North American Prospects Hockey League's (PHL) third event of the season, which will run from December 2-4, and will feature all 18 of the PHL's 18U Midget Major teams that compete at the Tier I AAA level.
The Combat Hockey/3HL Showcase is expected to attract thousands of fans in overall attendance, including an anticipated100 college and junior scouts.
